From the pyramids of Saqqara and Giza, all the way to Philae, three millennia later, meet expert-led tour to show you the best of its ancient civilization.

For a once in a lifetime trip to Egypt, why not ask specialists? Experts in the culture of ancient and modern Egypt, whose primary focus isn't the size of the hotel room or swimming pool, but to ensure that you will see the important temples and tombs most visitors don't get to see.

People who won't treat you as another tourist but as a visiting friend ready for the adventure of a lifetime.

Professionals who have an intimate knowledge of the ancient Egyptian civilization, and a long practice of conducting visits of monuments, meaning knowing when is the best or worse time to visit a site.

Strive to escape crowds

One could pay to privatize sites. Or think out of the box, as it is still possible to visit world-level monuments without crowds. It relies on doing the opposite of everyone else, visiting before or after cruises and buses. That means sometimes leaving before dawn, or late in the morning, depending on the situation. This can be achieved in most sites, but is almost impossible at Luxor, Karnak, and Hatshepsut's temples.

The issue of crowds is also season-dependent, with winter being the busy season, and the Christmas holiday the worse in terms of crowds. Most of the photos here of empty temples were taken in summer. Yet the nearly empty Abu Simbel was photographed in winter, illustrating there are ways around crowds, both in temples and inside royal tombs. One of the reasons to start discussing months ahead of the journey.

Serenity

Isn't it nicer to discover wonders you've long dreamt about quietly? To be overwhelmed by the monument rather than the crowds? To take the time to take it in, rather than be told the boat is about to leave without you?

Hotels & cruises

Art Journey Egypt crafts the visits to the monuments and museums; including private transport from Cairo to Abu Simbel. Meaning that from landing to take off, three people are looking after you, ensuring you enjoy the best of Egypt. And advises you on the choices of hotels, from the finest hotels in Egypt, like the Old Cataract in Aswan, Al Moudira, or the Winter Palace in Luxor, and an ideal hotel to start the journey, Mena House, in Giza right in front of Khufu's pyramid.

Or affordable while nice and charming ones as well, from having experienced most of the hotels suggested.

For cruises, it is important to realize that the Luxor to Aswan cruise takes 4 days for a distance that can be done in less than 4 hours by car. Yet there is no arguing at all with the charm, relaxation, and beauty of sailing the Nile on dahabiya -we can even discuss privatizing one- but here the luxury is time.
